It's not just that. He wraps up drama, comedy, sex, and character development in all one thing and it all fits in character and it WORKS. Like, I can hear it in their voices, they all talk like themselves.
The guy has serious talent and understanding of human interraction.

The redraws are nice, but I think that they lose a lot of the charm of the original.

This is just..awful. Would it kill him to have an emotional response or act ANYTHING like they do in the movie?
If they don't seem to care, why should I?

What burns my ass is the dialogue.
>"Please, stop using that word, it's so problematic. Uuuugh, it bothers me so much it's so problematic, don't you understand how it marginalizes us, that word is that much problematic, so please stop using it okay?"
It's like looking at an average Tumblr post.

It'd appear that I spoke too soon.
Weaver is putting it to a vote on /trash/ to see which of the four comic ideas get made into a full story.

I assume this is a different timeline and a different possible hookup.
ID: 6d873 No.1690
According to Weaver, this supposedly took place between the case being solved and Nick enrolling in the police academy.

Japan has access. We'll see what happens. I look forward to the fanart.

Well it clearly didn't take place in the same timeline as his previous story since judy hadn't seen his dick then.

Alternate ending for those who only ship Nick/Judy. He'll continue it for reals where he left off.
ID: 24afc No.1729
I figured as such, too. Weaver's been known to have a little fun and troll with the /trash/ folks by doing alternative endings like this.
That said, I've yet to see the next page. Except for some pictures relating to some discussion on 'wildecest' (Nick x His Mom), there's been no comic updates from Weaver.
ID: 0a786 No.1740
so the one involving the /trash/ is the second one?
Am I the only one who finds that weird?
ID: 6d873 No.1741
Weaver was into the idea of the three of them having this building conversation that, eventually, lead into a threesome – as shown at the end of the first/original ending.
However, a lot of folks in /trash/ didn't like this idea of Judy not hooking up with Nick (even though this story takes place before she ever meets him), so Weaver made an 'alternative' ending where supposedly Nick comes along and she never takes them up on the offer.
ID: 6d873 No.1748
Weaver also put out some story ideas he had, although he's not promising to make any of them. Just wanted to see folks' reactions.
>Wrote up some teasers!
>Feel free to make a case for the one you want; there won't be a formal poll. Though I'd also like to know what your picks were before these blurbs, based on pic only.
>The Bully of the Burrows: A teenaged Judy hears that the notorious bully of the burrows, Gideon Grey, has been making waves again. Stifling a stupid childhood crush, Judy decides to confront him again, with the intent of making good on her daydreams of finally reforming him and taming the wild fox.
>The Nocturnal District: Shock collar AU. Searching for clues, Officer Hopps visits a dive in the Nocturnal district filled with predators of the night. Despite a prickly initial reception, her open attitude quickly wins them over, and soon the sharp-toothed patrons are more than happy to have her company.
>The Very Very Dangerous Suspect: Against advisement, Officer Hopps pursues a dangerous and cunning fugitive into the back alleys of Zootopia without backup. Amid the rushing adrenalin and aching muscles, a strange and mutual air of primal flirtation begins to grow as the dogged chase draws them in.
>The Sunny Day on the Farm: Just after the Carrot Days festivities, one warm day in Summer, a young Judy sneaks off to meet with some boys out in the far fields. With youthful curiosity all around and more than a few primal drives bubbling up, a playful afternoon quickly becomes a learning experience.
>The Adult Shop Complaint: Responding to a nearby nuisance complaint at an adult novelty shop, Judy ends up spending her lunch break nervously perusing the wares, fascinated by interspecies possibilities and tempted by all the wonders of sexual discovery a diverse city like Zootopia can offer a girl.
>The Sheep in Wolf's Clothing: Out early on good behavior, an ankle-monitored Dawn Bellwether copes with the boredom of house arrest by returning to her anti-Pred rhetoric, which doesn't go unnoticed. Three wolves arrive to teach the little sheep about the primal roles she's so obsessed with.
ID: 6d873 No.1750
>The Bunny's Safety Measures: PREY shock collar AU. To curb massive overpopulation, prey species have been fitted with collars designed to control their savage instincts to endlessly procreate. A collared Judy Hopps faces prejudice as well as earnest curiosity from a predator interested in testing her boundaries.
>The Creature Crawling: This one was gonna be about reports of an alligator in Zootopia's sewers and Hopps+Wilde investigating to find the rumored reptile but it's just too dumb in my head so I'm scrapping it now. WHOOPS
>The Quiet Weekend at Home: After a harrowing ordeal at work, Officer Wilde takes a little vacation time at home to destress and relax, but with his lonely, doting mother constantly hovering around him, he begins to wonder if this trip will see him getting any rest at all.
>The Bad Bad Bad Ewe: Unable to organize the funds or manpower to enact her schemes, Dawn Bellwether's conspiracy stagnates as nothing more than a daydream. With no other outlet, her frustrations and anti-predator sentiments become harder to repress in just fantasies, and soon she's taking risks to indulge them.
>The Predator-Prey Film: A very nervous Judy Hopps is pushed to star in an underground "documentary" about predator-prey relations, with special focus on the roles prey species are "supposed to" play. Society's lines of equality are tossed as the bunny must capitulate in front of the camera to her evolutionary "superiors".
>The Soft Little Pig: A porcine correctional officer finds herself in a compromised position after a mishap at the local prison. Though it's her job to keep the inmates in line, she's always had a big heart, and just can't help but show a little compassion to the prisoners under her care.

There's something that bothers me about this. She's too big basically or at least the framing makes it seem like she's scaled up with the other characters.
ID: b9b0c No.1820
its most likely the framing that makes her appear too big cause of gazelle. If it was just Judy and Bellweather you wouldnt think so much, but adding gazelle you then feel that she was modified.
