I foresee one of two things happening.
1) Miles continually is teased/blue balled by Geecku's antics.
2) Miles has sex with Geecku and come out thinking he has finally found the one girl he could live his life with only to find out he is but a single drop in the ocean of a number of people Geecku has slept with and when he goes on a self-righteous rant of some kind, Geecku totally misses the point leaving Miles feeling like a used dildo… or something like it.

Yes please. Preferably with Geecku giving a short speech about how he's nothing special and why would he assume he was?

Number 1 is more likely to happen than number 2, to be honest.
With a possible surprise pic of Miles and Geecku actually banging and chalo calling it a "What if".>>4048
I'd like that, but odds are that it wouldn't stick. Just like when he found the plane. He was close to realizing that his way of thinking was wrong and then he found the plane.
If it happened now then either he'd still deny that he's wrong or something like Rachael saying she's wrong would happen.

ID: d965b No.4100
No, he answered my ask about edits to his drawings.
Which, of course, Andrew read and laughed at rather disingenuously.
ID: 602d1 No.4101
The only patreon asks that get picked are
1. a random question about the character that donators voted to see answer a question.
2. Someone from chalo's high patreon tier picked at random to have one of their questions answered.
The rest are picked at random and asked by whoever regardless of patreon.
ID: 8e88c No.4108
I gotta say Chalo is the perfect example of how Patreon should be done. No Paywalls, rewards that are enjoyed by everyone and pretty good perks if you want to support with more $$$
ID: 1285b No.4143
Makes me wonder of Chalo will make a gay male character someday.
He doesn't need to go all "muh representation", but someone like Justin from El Goonish would be nice.
ID: 23b23 No.4144
I recall some conversations saying that he's not usually confident with drawing dicks (i.e. the immense amount of lesbian action / cutoff vaginal penetration for his non-canon content) so the odds of him making a male gay couple that might lead to something hardcore between them are extremely slim.
ID: 88ff5 No.4151
Not many straight artists put too much emphasis on the penis, the exceptions being someone like Naylor (and now-a-days even that is pushing it). If he can draw breasts in it's many ways of jiggle-goodness he can draw a set of testicles jiggling from their branch while the tree gets shaken by an eager apple-maiden.

Let's just pray this doesn't lead to Randal being dumb enough to actually take advice from Miles on interaction with women on any level.

I think Randal is smart enough to avoid Miles advice, drunk or sober, and if not Minos will be there to keep him on the anti-Miles path.
ID: df2c7 No.4630
I think he might actually give a good suggestion for a bad reason and nobody will listen because he's Miles.
Like he'll say that taffy is scared of commitment because she's a golddigger when she's actually scared of commitment because she fears it would make her mother right about her place in life.
Randal would overcorrect and do the exact opposite of what Miles suggests and fuck things up.

ID: 981ff No.4671

ID: 55205 No.4675
Yeah, but the point is Miles is still having her do this and we'll still be expected to think he's suitable for, well, ANYONE but her, really.>>4671
But he also said she can't get pregnant, and the next thing we know, we're supposed to buy that Din and Jin are her children, so…
ID: 8bfde No.4676
Din and Jin are creatures of life energy. If Geecku is their mother then she didn't go through pregnancy and birthing with them.
ID: fd0de No.4678
Isn't she their mother in the sense that she created them?
ID: 34fe8 No.4679
I think that's the implication.
She's their mother in the same sense that Dr. Soong is Data's father.
ID: b5827 No.4682
So in otherwords, primes are physically OP by default?
ID: 55205 No.4683
Or, more likely, given the second image and how articulate and verbose Geecku suddenly is in the first, it's a joke meant to poke fun at how Chalo basically draws most characters with the same basic figure.
ID: 34fe8 No.4685
Maybe not necessarily OP, but maybe just predisposed to good health and whatnot. Miranda from Mass Effect, not Captain America. After all, a 100% designed-in-that-form species would probably have a lot less "genetic drift" from the ideal of whoever created it. Primes didn't have to evolve to that form so didn't have to worry about picking up genetic mutations for shit like asthma and faulty heart valves and stuff like that.>>4683

Geecku is now ruined.>>4692>>4696
Eh. Every relationship is different. There's no "proper" amount of time for people to date before they get married, and any attempt to set one is basically just being naive. Some people date for days/weeks/months, get married, and spend the rest of their lives together. Some are together for years, go through all the steps, get married, and it's like a switch is flipped that now they can't stand each other.
ID: 55205 No.4698
Oh there's no chance in hell she'll want the fucker once she finds out about this. Unless she just goes full retard or something in a last-ditch effort to justify her being paired with him.
Really, Geecku's perfect for a douchebag like Miles. They get together, he never ages or dies, they have as much sex as either of them could ever want for eternity, he never has to do the unthinkable and genuinely like a woman for more than her body and potential ability to get his dick wet, and everyone's better off.
And again, why are they talking like a long-ass amount of time has passed? Is a handful of months officially a long time because Cocoa got engaged that fast? Are they forgetting about all the deep personal issues Taffy's plagued by? Is this seriously supposed to be expected to end in anything but disaster?

I…I am so conflicted. One on hand you can clean it with enough hot water and detergent…but on the other hand the mental image is just…*shudder*… Mind you it has been a while for me =P
ID: feb8b No.4706
i wasn't talking about "ruin" in that regard. I meant we know next to nothing about her other than she likes sex. You can have characters that like sex, but there's got to be something else to them other than putting out. If you don't then what your left with is a one dimensional character.
I have no qualms with characters or people who like to have sex that's not the issue.
ID: 7be97 No.4710
1) A person is not a sex toy. 2) Why would you want to use a sex toy anyway? 3) People are flawed, and make stupid decisions. That this should not apply to fictional characters is ridiculous. "Characters will act as people do, or they will become just a Mary Sue".
Also, here's another interesting one; people like Miles? They might act like shits because people keep treating them like shits, and react even more suspiciously if they should try and be nice or admirable for a change. Not to make any excuses, but look up "imposed identity appropriation". It is entirely feasible that Miles' douchebaggery is merely an internalized scumbag attitude that's as much a defense mechanism and a reaction to other people's lack of reconciling themselves with their own failures as it is simply his character. Personally, I would enjoy seeing him pushed to the point of breakdown, to see what the case is. There's the possibility he might go "Yeah, I hate myself, but at least I know what a prick I am, which makes me better than you who can't even recall your own mistakes".
ID: 75154 No.4711
>>4710>Why would you want to use a sex toy anyway?
Because they're fun?
And quit being a Miles apologist. Having personal issues doesn't give him license to treat people like shit.
ID: 55205 No.4712
Or maybe he's a fucking douchebag, even his origin side-comic shows he always has been, his horrible treatment of the women in his life emphasizes this, there's no saving his character at this point, and any attempt at having what you suggested happen would be such an immediately recognizable piece of asspull drama fodder that only the dumbest of Miles apologist forumites would buy it.
You're like those after-school specials that try to claim bullies are the real victims no matter what.

>>4711>Having personal issues doesn't give him license to treat people like shit.
I specifically said "not to make excuses" to clarify that I was hypothesizing. Thanks for that response anyway. But it'd be okay if he acted all deferential and apologized constantly? Come on.
I wish you'd state some actual moral standpoints. Or at least settle on one form of validation when you talk about things like this. External or internal, pick one. Or maybe the problem is the same as >>4702
, and you're saying that just because we haven't seen characterization as of yet there can't possibly be any that the writer might have in mind that we might see later on. Then again, I'll grant that it's a webcomic, and planning ahead doesn't seem to be the strong suit of artists in the field…
Still, I wonder how you see the world and the people in it when you go outside. When you encounter someone who acts like an asshole, do you immediately assume he/she was just born that way, and therefore inherently deserve getting hammered into the ground? Spoiler: Most people out there who are jerks have become as they are for a reason
, and quite probably one that is painful to them. It helps if you try to take that into account, and don't just go labeling them as "evil".
ID: 7be97 No.4714
I've the very, very strong feeling that you're assuming way too much here. "Miles apologist". Wow. I think I'll have a toast in memory of intellectual honesty right about at this point.
Funny you should mention bullying though. I was bullied quite severely at school, and the primary offender? Yeah, I don't envy that guy. I didn't then, and I particularly don't in hindsight. And that comes from a point of understanding and not falling into the kind of emotionalism that I think you're doing. I'm not condoning any of the behavior, but making judgments from on high and saying that someone is literally irredeemable? I'm sorry, but even medieval Christians believed in purgatory. If we're going to talk apologism here, frankly, I'd say you sound like some SJW who believes that hate speech is acceptable, as long as it's coming from those with the most "oppression bonus points". Morality doesn't work that way.(USER WAS BANNED FOR BEING A MILES APOLOGIST)

I don't think you know what any of those words mean.
Clearly school has let out for the holidays already because reddit has been leaking all over the rest of the internet, Jesus Christ.
ID: feb8b No.4716
let's talk about something. Las Lindas has been going on for 10 years, there have been ample times to show Miles being a good person, but it just hasn't happened. Looking back at the beginning I did feel bad for him after Mora used him. But since then his character has just spiraled downward into this dickish asshole who will only pursue a woman if he thinks she'll put out. That was his reason for staying on the farm after the harvest festival. it was his his reason for dating Taffy, and it was his reason for pursuing Rachel.
Miles' motivation is sex. and when he doesn't get what he thinks he deserves, he tries to manipulate his way into the girl's pants. That, or he goes on this whole "Woe is me" inner monologue on how he wonders if he'll ever find "love" (love meaning sex).
Any Woman, let alone reader worth their own salts can see right through him.
Miles is a borderline sociopath.
All that said, I believe the writers can fix him. I still believe there's a chance to do that.
They could have and member from Miles's family search him out and set him straight. Or he could witness a guy just as bad as he is berating a woman, which would cause him to rethink his behavior, Or you could have him actually apologize to Taffy for his past transgressions.
those are are just some ideas. As I said before in order to have a good character they need more than one dimension. So until we actually see Miles being something other than selfish, manipulative, and gross We have no reason not to think that about him.

One of the things I have seen in the comic is that these characters all have some personal flaws/issues that need resolving in some eye opening/life changing way. But these things don't happen overnight or right away.
Miles case is pretty obvious, he still thinks he is an entitled teenager who deserves stuff without earning it because he saw others getting it.
Honestly seeing Geecku having sex with him could lead to a good thing…allow me to explain.
In Miles' eyes Geecku is his perfect woman, she will sleep with him, not complain about it and quite possibly do it multiple times.
Miles, in his infinite wisdom, thinks he could make a girl like her his, only to find out not only is she not interested in him but has done the same thing with others many times before… THEN, when Miles goes off and makes some self righteous shame speech to Geecku about he was 'used' and so forth, not only does she not get the point but she has a similar 'not caring' attitude that Miles displays all the time.
Almost like holding a mirror up to an evil being and watching it make weird squirming faces at itself. Eye opening experience. *shrugs* but hey, this is just me though =D

>>4713>But it'd be okay if he acted all deferential and apologized constantly? Come on.
Because he can only operate on one of two extremes?
>and you're saying that just because we haven't seen characterization as of yet there can't possibly be any that the writer might have in mind that we might see later on.
The comic has been going on for ten years and he's still exactly the same now as he was then, even after being punched in the gut by minos for being a misogynistic tool and having his stupid "plane epiphany." And his prelude comic has him acting in exactly the same way when he was younger as well.
>When you encounter someone who acts like an asshole, do you immediately assume he/she was just born that way
No, I assume that they're choosing to act like an asshole because they're a grown-ass adult who can choose how they treat other people. I'd hate to break it to you, but there are plenty more people who have suffered the same abuses and hurt and who can, and choose, to be nice. Because they're adults. Who can choose how they treat others.
>I wish you'd state some actual moral standpoints.
I don't deal with morals, I deal with ethics. And here we have a guy who, when asked about his current attempts at pursuing Rachael, responds with "oh yeah" while CHOOSING to simultaneously encourage oral sex from ANOTHER WOMAN. Miles is, objectively, not a good person.
ID: 55205 No.4720

Don't forget having his ass kicked by Rachael for trying to manipulate her, right before succeeding at doing just that by pretending to be genuinely interested in more than her body. Before continuing to be a sexual harassment lawsuit waiting to happen, even trying to coerce her into fucking him now that they share a room. And now, yeah, this shit.
I swear, if this event doesn't result in some form of consequences, it gets swept under the rug and he keeps being treated like he's fucking awesome for it…

>I swear, if this event doesn't result in some form of consequences, it gets swept under the rug and he keeps being treated like he's fucking awesome for it…
ID: c3775 No.4723
Ah consequences are a good thing but I really have to ask. Who id going to dispense them? At the moment there are no rules stopping the people at the farm from fraternizing or doing things together and if Miles is doing his usual sleazy thing then who has the most to gain by stopping him?
Mora? HAH She hates him and isn't too happy with Geecku about.
Rachael? Yeah more laughing there from me sorry.
There probably won't be any consequences apart from someone yelling at him should he be caught because there is no one attached to him enough to want to heap any on him.
At the moment Minos is pretty much doing all he can by admonishing Geecku for, more or less, being herself. Honestly the only way I see Miles learning any type of lesson from this is if he gets used like a cheap whore and forgotten like he did with those in his past.
ID: d2824 No.4725
He can have social consequences. As said the only reasonable thing to happen if Rachael finds out is for her to accuse him (entirely accurately) of lying about being interested in her beyond sexually. She doesn't have to beat him up (and could frankly use the downgrade from stereotypical tsundere), but there's zero reason other than worse-than-Naylor writing for her to just shrug and accept it.
And there is one thing Mora could do about it: when Rachael comes to her and says she wants Miles out of her room, she can back her up. Make Miles go sleep in the barn or something. He might not be breaking any rules that could result in termination but there's nothing that says he gets to stay in someone else's room when he makes them uncomfortable. (And again, Mora being petty and making
Rachael room with him, even though she obviously could have in the first place if she wanted to pull that kind of crap, would be terribad writing.)
To be honest, I think SK has inadvertently written himself into a major turning point in the comic. If Miles breezes through this with no consequences, it will be the point that the comic became an irredeemable vehicle for his self-insert. If he actually has to deal with the consequences of this and doesn't get to just blow them off, it will be the point where the comic's story began truly being served instead of just the whims of its creator.

'One way' being Miles continuing on down his usual sleazy path to self gratification and getting busted, and possibly kicked out of his rooming arrangements with Rachael and on his own (which Miles may see as a good thing for him) and this would see the writers failing to change any part of him…or…'Another' way is him getting told off by Rachael and finding himself losing grip on probably the only person he had any connection with.
Sort of depends on how seriously Miles see's the work he has done to try and make a friend in Rachael.

what was the context of this?

I think it was just done for shits and giggles.
Also we'll be getting ask blog answers from Tiggs and Miles at some point
ID: 4c396 No.4784
I think it was related to the festival event. Some guy called Silvedor was debating if Miles was corrent in being angry for being led on. So Taffy replied to that. The "fuck you" (and Tila) were added later, after the sketch was done.

>>4785>among the very first Primes that arrived to Neo Earth 200 years ago
…Arrived from where? The Primes fled to the original Earth centuries before its destruction when Prism got destroyed, didn't they? And I think there should probably be at least two greats on that "grandfather" if it was that long ago.
ID: 94c0b No.4788
Only Ambar, Kate, Geecku, and Bengala did. All the other primes were scattered to other planets.
ID: 55205 No.4793
Then how come Ambar implied a whole lot more than just the four of them when telling Sarah the little history lesson?
ID: 94c0b No.4794
It really doesn't imply that a lot of primes made it to earth way before it got blown to pieces. It just says "the last member of the royal family and a few others"
and I made an error in my previous post. Xeanica and Howl also landed on earth.
ID: 55205 No.4795
So then if we're to believe there were only half a dozen Primes on the entire planet by the time it was destroyed and remade, how did that tiny number warrant a whole new continent just for Primes? One would think that'd be the result of a lot of them already living on Earth. But apparently the gods just decided to remodel the planet solely as an invite for all the other Primes to somehow find out about it and come on down?
ID: 1fb25 No.4796
The Primes were hunted and so became a nomadic race, spreading out across the different worlds…kinda makes sense when you're hunted. In the comic it is mentioned the royal family and a few others came to Earth, most likely some of the Crests, hence why the Emperor came looking…he kinda wanted that power for himself…see? Big battle happened, old Earth went squit and the Dragon Gods remade Earth with the intention of giving those wayward Primes out in the stars a proper home…not to mention any followers of the Emperor who decided to follow a more peaceful path…cause of folks like Drake being former Narakhan or whatever. But yeah, that's the general gist of the story.

So apparently people had been entering Chalo's raffle and other artists raffles with dozens of sockpuppet accounts to increase their chances of winning.
Pretty shitty stuff.
ID: fb4bb No.4820
how would you stop them? There must be some way.
ID: 0160f No.4821
Stop having raffles. Simple enough.

Quick test bans.
When someone gets banned, if multiple names get banned with them then they were using sock puppet accounts to increase their chances

there aren't any ugly girls in Las Lindas and its bonus comics, so that isn't really an issue.

And thus begins Miles' journey to meet every rock, tree and ditch as he is dragged off to Wile E Coyote-land and ends up too broken to do anything.
ID: feb8b No.4843
There are no pros to this… I really hope SK isn't just doing this for the sake of Miles getting laid. If he is, then he really is just using LL for pointless wish fulfillment.
ID: 3f88e No.4844
Could have sworn I read him say that Randal was they character he "identified" with now instead of miles.
Or maybe he does both now

I don't follow sk but if that's true then 1, it feels like a a cop-out 2, if that were true wouldn't they actually Be trying to fix Miles if he was so bad?
ID: 55205 No.4848
Honestly, if they're gonna fuck, just let them do it already, cause this is just pointlessly lengthy padding at this point and I'm sick of this comic being little more than a glorified "Who's going to fuck who?" guessing game.
ID: feb8b No.4849
Also something occured to me, does anyone know who has the most power in regards to the comic? Ive read SK, ID, and Curran havy varying degrees of writing power.
ID: 55205 No.4850
Well, Curran just handles Knighthood and fills in for SK when needed, and ID is no longer involved in anything LL-related at all, so that'd unfortunately be SK.
ID: feb8b No.4852
Wow, that's depressing…
However that would explain the recent spike with "shipping." pairing characters off with story coming as an afterthought.
ID: 55205 No.4853
SK's always been the one with the most power of the three though. Hell, sometimes his decisions even manage to overpower what Chalo wants, cause Chalo's frankly too nice for his own good when it comes to SK.
ID: 94c0b No.4854
Normally yes. But it's possible that he just doesn't care about Miles like he used to now and why he suddenly turned so much attention to Randal and Taffy. So while Randal gets a ton of panel time, Miles is just left there not really changing. >>4849>>4852
Even when ID did LL stuff, from what I heard he didn't have that much power as you'd think. Shipping does seem to be SK's "Go to" for keeping the story going.
In fact, a while ago he made a thread on the forums concerning Learning Curves. He said he was getting tired of it and that Vixy X Tiggs was his main bread and butter for a plot and that he only had two arcs of AngelxTiare left for ideas. There was even the option of him canceling it.
And then everyone gave him ideas that should have been easy for him to come up with. In fact he took the parents visiting day idea from that thread. But instead of getting more about the parents, we got some quick cameos before we got moved to Davin and his harem which, personally I think shouldn't work.
It became a waste because we could have had some moments with Tiggs' mom interact with her daughter and Vixy, Bengala attempting to get his son to live a little, maybe what Kayin and Grace think of Hope with Miles and if they're aware that Hope loves Shin as well (speaking of that, SK put that Hope and Shin were actually dating and that her thing with Miles was her cheating before everyone corrected him on that) and this apparent beef between Vixy and her mother Carmesi and what Howl thinks about it. Lord knows we won't see Grace, Kayin, Bengala, and Howl for a long ass time in Knighthood.

There's a serious issue with that. Learning Curves has supposed to be the story of Miles and actually show him being something other than a gross prick. But instead, we get girl/girl shipping that's skirting porno levels of believably. What SK revealled by making those statements is Learning Curves has no ending, it has no goal.
Any one who writes knows that before you write you have to know where you're going. If you don't then you just make aimless noise. LC and LL are the actual canon but right now none of them have a goal. There's plenty of leads you can follow up on, but SK just won't. Instead we get shipping.
and that's where the biggest frustration comes from.
ID: 94c0b No.4856
I honestly believe that he was more Gung-ho about LC when he related with Miles before moving on to Randal in that department. And even though LC is supposed to be Miles' story, the focus hasn't been on him for a long time. like the last I remember of him being important was him blowing a date by following Sammy and Toby all day and he still got sex from Hope afterwards.
Most people wouldn't after screwing up like that.
Anyway it's easy for him to coast by one shipping plots because "Who will date/fuck who" is easy to catch attention with. They don't really plan that much in advance.
Like, hell, the only reason Cocoa started getting a lot of focus on top of becoming engaged to some dude in the background that nobody cares about is because she won a forum popularity poll and he "Wanted to show gamers in a better light" for some reason. Funnily enough a lot of people liked her because she was single.
Las Lindas has no antagonist. Even though it looked like Vincent would become one for a panel. But for all we know they scrapped it because he has no personal beef with the farm like Alej did. Which would be fine. He doesn't actively despise them but her wants to do better than them because that's plain ol business.
Then you have sarah's family finding her and stuff that was never used like Mora having a sister that lived with their father according to the forums a long time ago. I'd like for SK to just sit down one day, look at the fractured information he has about the LL world, and organize it. Just keep what will be considered canon and build from that. But it's basically just page for page now.
At the very least, for all the shit people give it, Knighthood has a clear goal. Make Joy a knight.

>>4856>Most people wouldn't after screwing up like that.
SK said that it would be wrong for Hope not to fuck Miles despite Miles disregarding her feelings and ruining her day, because "[he (SK) doesn't] believe in treating sex like a reward" for good behavior.
Basically SK thinks that if you're the woman in a relationship you're obligated to put out daily or you're… I don't know, trying to train the man like a dog or something.

Sadly I have to agree. Originally the goal was to save Mora's farm, and now this has been done it seems like there is nothing else to do other than to look to those living at the farm. I was half expecting to see the Sarah's Family plot kick in or even something developing with Geecku's appearance but this is just petering out into something else now.

That's stupid. There's so much wrong there that I don't even know where to begin.>>4858
I was disappointed that they dropped Sarah's family finding her because "they didn't know how to make it work" when it doesn't seem that hard. Hell here's an idea, have the people that found Sarah send someone from their side to get hired at Las Lindas so they can check out the farm and its workers while attempting to get close to Sarah. The mole reports back to her family with a report every few days or so and after a while they show up on the farm to get Sarah.
But in all honesty, when I think about it I feel like SK would intend for us to see Sarah's family in the wrong some how. like a "The farm members have to stick together because they're like a family now!" kind of thing. That and Rach's rep would be in the absolute shitter since she kidnapped Sarah in the first place.
As for Geecku being there, the most Chalo has said about it is that the Crests are gathering due to some secret war thing so I don't know if he meant that they're only gathering on the prime continent or if the farm will be a base or something for this war. In all honesty a war doesn't fit in Las Lindas in the first place. Then again after the mess that was Mora's dad…
Something I'd like to see is how the rest of the world dealt with the whole "Primes wanting to live on earth" thing when they first appeared. Ambar implies that all the humans were super happy to let them stay but I can't see that happening.
You'd have to deal with the fact that the earth was actually blown up and remade with an extra continent added by some dragon gods. How would humans deal with that? Governments would freak the fuck out over the fact that their weapons apparently didn't do anything and they had to rely on Primes to do the heavy lifting. Not to mention every religion on earth dealing with dragon gods. And primes are physically superior by default so do they just blow humans out of the water at sports events if they compete with them, or do they have separate prime only leagues? Did they lend their technology to other countries or did they keep it all to themselves?
I honestly see more people being confused and afraid of the space furries than everyone accepting them with open arms. It probably cooled off over the years, but in the beginning? I don't think so.

I think a better idea would go along the lines of having a representative show up at the farm to talk to Mora about Sarah. Rachael sees something going on from afar and reacts badly thinking the past has caught up and tries to run off with Sarah again. Then while everyone is off looking for the pair, Rachael can sit down and come clean to Sarah about what happened and then leave it up to Sarah to … well… be Sarah I guess. Small drama arc with some character development. I dunno, that's how I would do it.
