I know they don't get along, but I want them to fuck until they set the forest on fire.
ID: 57255 No.7312
You know, I didn't realize it, but I actually re-read the first pages of the comic and WOW.
There was definitely a huge improvement in those 2 years.
The colors, the backgrounds are more vivid, the lines are more firm and confident.
I guess it's just natural improvement, but really, Good job there Skidd.

More importantly it isn't a silly Sword Art Online clone anymore
ID: b2504 No.7314
how was it even a Sword Art Online clone in the first place?
ID: 06fb8 No.7315
Seconded, the most this comic has is game references…it appears to have changed in story scope to something more serious however. In comparison to sword art online the characters are mostly incompetent and prone to error unlike Sword Art where the protagonist is some hacker bad-ass, who despite being in a setting where people will actually suffer cardiac arrest upon death in-game, is not in any actual danger. Not to mention having a solution to everything, it's pretty anti-climatic and lacks satisfaction of a job well done.
There is alot of ship pandering though, that is to be expected however since both artists' origins are in the furry department.

man, SAO always anger me cause I grew up on .//Hack
ID: 9f9a9 No.7317
Hey thanks! We're trying, the comic still has lots of room for improvement/growth.>>7315
Shipping is one of those things readers eat up. We're trying to avoid the "love at first sight" cliche and build up relationships to have a more realistic feel.Nor are we intending on drawing out romantic relationships "Will they, won't they?" so much it feels frustrating.
Readers also seem to love the game homages in the comic, so we're trying to give respect without going over the top.>>7316>>7313
Neither of us watched Sword Art Online,I did see .hack (the original) and didn't enjoy it. It's funny since one of my very first writing projects around age 12 had a similar premise (kids go into a video game..adventure ensue) but it was inspired by the original Digimon series.
While UberQuest will always pay some homage to fantasy games (such as easter eggs) and such, we never intended it to be "Just a vidya game" with the same gamer jokes over and over. Though the "Gamer" webcomics seem to be losing steam these days.
Just wanted to say we appreciate all the commentary- good and bad you guys provide here. It helps give us introspection.
ID: 42b9c No.7320
At least .hack// is actually good.
ID: a56b4 No.7321
nah, its just me being old cause reading and watching SAO feels like its the same tune of the .hack series again though .hack just concentrates on "The World" series of games having these problems while SAO concentrate on VRMMOs in general as later on in the series they investigate other games that are also VRMMOs that are suffering the same problems of players being killed IRL if they die in the game…

Hey its always cool to get fanart! We enjoy the raunchy stuff and the clean stuff. I mean who doesn't like gifts?
Skidd kind of regrets that one-off journal - since it was a weird way to ask for fanart. It will live in infamy now, but what can ya do, yanno? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
ID: a56b4 No.7328
only people who deal with people who claim the item is a "gift"
ID: 9f9a9 No.7329
Hey, whatever floats their boat. Is it my cup of tea? No. Could it have been a far far worse fetish? Yes.
ID: 67da8 No.7330
i really am a fan and love how the comic is progressing. personally, i prefer when skidd and phuufy do the art. fans always make things gross or weird. seriously, preg kibbles porn? really? none of them have even been really paired off yet, except for the gay couple, whom i find adorable. just try and respect the artists a little bit.
ID: 31508 No.7331
For real though, it looks creepy from the outside but we do not take it seriously (at least I don't).
There's no "gift" there's no Kibbles cult or anything.
I was bored, people wanted porn, It's just an ironic act and I added the gross stuff because it's what are discussed on the threads.
Btw here's a vanilla version, I always make one.
ID: a56b4 No.7332
true, but still I have been given "gifts" when it was obviously was not…but now its sorta been solved with artists requiring an ok from the other person to make sure its ok to do.
ID: 9f9a9 No.7333
Well, as I've said before. People can do what they want, as long as nobody is doing a complete knock-off or making loads and loads of money with our intellectual property, we're generally ok with it.
Draw what ya like, I do like this version.
Also new page, I haven't seen anyone post it yet.
ID: 06fb8 No.7334
I totally would of, but I've had my face glued to FF14 and FO4 for a few days now.

Hey, having another NSFW custom comic auction. Heads up to those who said they didn't know/missed out. http://forums.katbox.net/threads/comic-page-commission-auction.13685/#post-220646
ID: 67da8 No.7393
personally i hope for the chalo method of dealing with sex scenes by linking it to their patreon so that they can do naughty things without having it on the site. of course they can do the watered-down version but this is just something I hope for. Can't wait either way.
ID: 42b9c No.7394
Or, y'know, subtlety and not feeling the need to straight-up turn the comic R-rated and resort to using outright porn scenes is an option too.
ID: a3918 No.7396
You gotta love that "sex scenes of any kind means no focus on story" mindset that is so prevalent in the Katbox.
But right, only shitty comics with no decent story have sex scenes.
ID: 9f9a9 No.7397
We never try to throw random sex in without it progressing the story and/or character relationships. I'm not going to spoil the next page but we assumed most people would give us a bit of faith in that.. if we wanted to do a porn comic we easily could (we started on one but still need to finish that up.)
Sex can be a writing device like anything else, we have nothing against it nor even fanservice, just gotta know when to use it.>>7395
This is really nice :)

"Here, fuck context, have my one already adult-oriented example of a story that made it work as proof of why this story should do it!"
ID: a56b4 No.7409
Eh, from my view: "it just came suddenly"
We spent two pages of these two talking about their work and then suddenly getting it on…
Though as Idola would say: "these are background characters, they have as much value as noticing in an anime theres only one black person. At best since they are only there for "the plot to move" instead now they will be blackmailed instead of charmed by a wandering bard, cause if I know things "their boss would probably not like the idea that instead of doing what they suppose to do…they had a quickie" so that is a possible way for the group to get their info….

Who are Farron & Scarab supposed to be?
Something out of the Nightmare Before Christmas or Alice in Wonderland maybe?
ID: 6cbb1 No.7432
I don't know if you're trying to get us to say his name as a joke, or if you haven't seen one of the best movies for Halloween ever.
ID: 541d4 No.7443
I looked it up and no I haven't seen it. To be fair I was born after the 80's & we never really celebrate Halloween where I'm from.
ID: 0ff0f No.7459
I think we're in the process of learning something terrible about Farron's childhood, guys.
ID: 06fb8 No.7460
Yeah I wasn't expecting anything pretty out of his past, though possible child molestation is a brutal tale to tell even in fiction.
We can't go with him seeing his dad cheating on his mom with another man either, since he (or maybe just dante?) never knew them if the ask uberquest blog was any indication.
ID: 0b4e9 No.7495
Stay good, Farron, stay good!

Ohhhhhhh take the money and ruuun!

That's actually exactly what Mason has - I've read stuttering and dyslexia go hand in hand with language processing.
Though it is a misconception that people are 'slow' who have this, which is not generally the case - same goes for Mason.
ID: 08cbc No.7604
Slow, forgetful, an idiot, loner, lazy, anti-social, hopeless, sound familiar…
That's what they called me. All my life I had wondered what was wrong with me. I finally found out it was dyslexia only after I graduated Uni with lots of failures and a low GPA. I'ts wrecked my self-esteem, it's left me with poor social skills and highly introverted. It continues to harm my career prospects. And despite all the warning signs and the fact that my parents suspected it nobody ever joined the dots.
I say this not as a rant but as a warning for your own children any anyone else on this thread who has kids. This disorder is so easy to overlook and even in its mild form it can have a devastating impact on their lives. More so than they are likely to ever admit to you.
If teachers tell you their not paying attention they might not just be acting out or lazy. Please consider the possibility of dyslexia even if they appear to read normally. And if it is get them what treatment you can as early as you can so they don't end up like poor Mason.

You mean asocial.
ID: 0b4e9 No.7607
I will never stop shipping them.Never.
ID: 4d00e No.7608
Socially avoidant would be a better description & I'm sure that's what they meant but they referred to it as 'anti-social' regardless of what the term actually means.
ID: 7d6dd No.7609
i know what he/she meant, that's why I responded like that.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asociality

Well fuck me, a LL cameo. Knighthood I think?
ID: d9aa7 No.7630
No, not Knighthood. Beowoof (Randal's game character) and Lux (Taffy's game character) from the bonus comic Dungeons and Dames.
ID: 06fb8 No.7631
Ah, ok. I don't really read LL but I do pay attention to some of the strips.
ID: 59fd6 No.7659
Other cameos too. Mayte from The Eye of Ramalach and Des from Desert Fox,
ID: 9f9a9 No.7665
I colored a few pieces Skidd recently did.

Poor choice of words.

Uh Oh Spaghettios!
Maybe Kibbles will have her trial in time to join them.
