"Screw you, Dad, I have a fairy godmother who embraces my transformation fetish!"
I hope this isn't further signs pointing towards a David Willis-esque "omg i hate my parents so much" sort of thing.
ID: c6531 No.9520
Reminds me of Susan's Logic/Curiosity battles. Maybe it was a clue this whole time.
ID: 8aaba No.9593
Isn't that basically what the entire comic is?
ID: 8b896 No.9594
Yeah, but not often as overt

3:1 Ashley Dies by the end of the next arc.
ID: cc254 No.9651
I'm willing to bet she gets brainwashed somehow.
ID: 52ff0 No.9800
I am not entirely sure where this is going. Though if it is implying she is a lesbian in lawyer's clothing…
I dunno, don't we have enough prominent lesbians in this comic?
ID: dd502 No.9810
Oh good more of this, and Susan deciding she's asexual.
I'm out again.
ID: ef55a No.9839
Mom: If you're gonna fuck, both be girls
ID: c6531 No.9866
I figured that was the plan, and then use the dewitchery diamond to get his own body before the transformation time runs out.
ID: 9c9ac No.10055
"… also, could someone fuck me? Or milk me? Or fuck me and

Or perhaps why their hairline is similar in that angle?
ID: f99b6 No.10226
Well now this is plot twist.
ID: f99b6 No.10236
Oh crap. RIP Pandora
ID: f99b6 No.10237
Also I gotta wonder if Voltaire planned for this to happen.
ID: 5048c No.10252
Very likely, since it seems half the point of indirectly aiding Sirleck was to get rid of whatever interference may be in his way towards changing Magic's will. Sirleck was definitely betting on Pandora saving her son so he'd lose his guardian angel in kind…if Magus was any indication she would not of let it be if his fate was to get body snatched.
Still, she's not completely out of the woods. Just largely weakened and suffering amnesia instead of having over several centuries of her knowledge on hand to read like a book (and more like a tattered journal).
ID: 5048c No.10264
Hard to say, outlasting generations has this odd effect on how we structured the family system. I think in this case, she is based off her mother's generation instead of his. So they'd technically be cousins on an equal level. That said, we don't really know her birth mother so we don't know her age to compare it to the times.
ID: f99b6 No.10275
Man, this sucks.I really liked Pandora.

"No. More. Aberrations."
ID: c6531 No.10384
My money is on half-brother.
ID: 52ff0 No.10386
More likely, yes. Posted that while rather tired so I skipped right to the next line-up.
ID: 02874 No.10406
Now I am wondering. What if what Voltaire wants is for magic to be openly available? Maybe the magic restrictions are related to inmortal law. So if said restrictions are gone, they will be able to act without consequence.
ID: c6531 No.10422
More magic means more abberations means more innocent people killed.
ID: c6531 No.10455
Not only that, but 1000~ish seers that don't know about magic at all, suddenly learning about it and being told to share it with their friends all at once is the bigger issue.
ID: caae7 No.10457
I'm already loathing that kid
ID: c6531 No.10467
Magic sure is obstinate. Who knows how magic will change?
ID: dd502 No.10468
Ted is about to do something… unwise.
ID: 52ff0 No.10474
Let's see….Susan, Grace, Justin, Nanase + Ellen, Pandora, and I think Sarah. Now Tedd and Adrian…did Elliot receive one yet? Aside from being an angry SJW for a bit anyways.
ID: c6531 No.10485
So magic is basically autistic god.
ID: c6531 No.10494
I wonder if what the "severety of the change" will be or would have been. Magic seems to have different definitions of extreme and severe.
ID: 52ff0 No.10508
Addendum: Spoke too soon now that I think on it. Not sure if this applies to seers too.
ID: c6531 No.10509
Well. Magic is even going to be even more dangerous than it was before. That's great.
ID: 52ff0 No.10511
Heh, nice one. And it's from a subject loosely related to MtG to boot.
But yeah, I can see them making abjurations/wards and handing them out like candy. Pretty sure Magic itself was referring to natural resistances and not the capability of resistances in general.
ID: c6531 No.10537
From Mad Scientist on a Budget, to Mad Scientist WITH a budget.
ID: cc254 No.10539
Alright, seriously, is everyone in this comic related?
ID: 52ff0 No.10540
Kind of? Keep in mind that this takes place in a town for the most part so it's a small world, so to speak.
But yes, the proverbial family tree gets bigger and bigger with either god-parenting or ties long abandoned/forgotten.
ID: 1dfab No.10541
Tedd's gonna be pissed when he finds out that his Mom has a son that she abandoned him for.
ID: 9d663 No.10602
I'm working with Mobius on that. The quixk patchea we had in place aren't quite working anymore
ID: c6531 No.10618
I think she's just resisting the magic of the control. Like she swerved to avoid the racoon or her heart was racing when he heard Magus was one of the reasons for her existence.
ID: 52ff0 No.10620
Far as I can tell though, this is rather rare since Sirleck is actually surprised she can do this to him.
Which is why I wonder if this is a perk of being born of dewitchery.
ID: dd502 No.10651
Oh fuck I think this is the version of Ellen from that stupid universe based off of Dan's RP that he for no good reason gave the Ellen in the comic the memories of. It hasn't actually come up since, so I thought he'd realized what a goofy-ass thing that was to do, but apparently not.
ID: c6531 No.10653
No, his universe's Tedd was in a duel with this "Ellen" that got him transported into this universe.
ID: c6531 No.10657
Whatever. Tedd can fix it
ID: 9c9ac No.10658
Ugh, this comic is getting even more
up its own ass than it already was.

El Goonish Shive's gradual transition from Excuse For Transformation Fetish Comic to Serious Plot Comic With Digressions of Discussing The Ethics of Transformation Fetish, and finally to Didactic On Gender Identity With Occasional Transformation Fetish is like watching Eddie Murphy's aunt fall down the stairs.
ID: c6531 No.10683
Agreed. I blame tumblr.
ID: dd502 No.10684
At least Dan hasn't stabbed his hand for accidentally upsetting them yet.
ID: 52ff0 No.10688
Addendum: Furthermore, making someone permanently the other sex and with enhanced statistics like stength and speed, you are also lowering their own magical threshold, and increasing the rate of magical energy they consume. There is no guarantee that the magical essence of moperville will be anywhere near the same level if they seal the rift, even with magic coming out of the closet. It's better to just change someone's sex to normal parameters, so they can keep more of their capabilities to perform magic.
ID: ae593 No.10690
If it is an enchantment and not just changing their base sex. The latter would not need to be maintained. As well as not require any support of a strength and speed enhancement. As well as allow a further strength and speed boost on top of that
ID: 52ff0 No.10691
Lost me at the end there. Are you referring to the change in speed or strength from the gender shift or artificially adding that onto them with that shift?
ID: c6531 No.10692
I'm saying you get a natural boost in strength, speed, and stamina from being male as a base. you can further augment that with magic.
ID: dd502 No.10695
This is just plain, flat-out stupid as fuck.
ID: c6531 No.10698
Agreed. I'm not angry though. I'm just disappointed that it's come to this. Like watching a friend self-destruct and thre's nothing I can do about it.
ID: 52ff0 No.10699
Same here. Heck, this has potential to be thought provoking but unfortunately: A) Dan isn't giving Magus a better portrayal on his philosophy and B) Elliot's white knighting does not mesh well with this subject. It makes him look like a tool instead of someone who actually has a stake in this.
Denial only works when someone is already in too deep in a sunken coast fallacy, or if the truth is worse than the lie. This is not one of those situations where it applies, a societal rule where that is relevant is something far worse than a matter of gender changing to suit the needs of one's job.
ID: 52ff0 No.10726
Looking back, now I think I know what.
With magic making itself known, and the many previous magics previously locked away, many of those useless artifacts now have their power back.
So it's a walking powder keg of magic shenanigans.
ID: c6531 No.10727
More or less. Explosions, curses. Maybe Ashley was born to tragically die…or be mutated into a horrible abomination the likes ics could only dream of.
ID: c6531 No.10744
Where's the good intelligent magic items when you need them?
ID: dd502 No.10762
I kinda like Kevin.
Gonna be a shame when he turns out to just be a vehicle for Dan to expound on how a sentient object can choose its gender identity.
ID: c6531 No.10986
I'd bet it's a demon. Or The Devil. Dan has had a subtle background of religion in his comic. Take it a step farther
ID: dd502 No.10993
>>10992>What a stupid reason to pursue someone.
Probably supposed to be a sign of this guy's nobility or something though.
Dan's writing has been going a bad direction for a long time. EGS is turning into Questionable Content just with more obvious fetishes.
ID: c6531 No.10996
He's been hanging out with a bad crowd. Trenders found the comic and went "UwU so progressive gender and sexuality variant characters" and latched on to it praising him. It went to his head and they sucked him into their cult. I'm more sad than anything else.
ID: c6531 No.11201
He's Looker from pokemon.
